Kate Napolitano Up at Atria
Kate Napolitano has been promoted to editorial director for nonfiction, from executive editor, at Atria Books, where she has acquired such books as Anne Helen Petersen's Friend Group, Jennifer Romolini's Ambition Monster, and Nobel Prize Peace laureate Malala Yousafzai’s forthcoming memoir, among others. Executive editor Yaniv Soha and senior editor Jenny Xu now report to Napolitano.
"Kate’s bright enthusiasm, acute trendspotting, and deep knowledge of the categories in which she publishes will make her an excellent champion of the nonfiction side of Atria Books," said Atria Publishing Group senior VP and publisher Libby McGuire, in a statement.
Napolitano joined Atria from the Dey Street at HarperCollins, where she was an executive editor, in 2022, and previously served stints at Houghton Mifflin Harcourt, now part of HC, and the now-defunct Penguin Random House imprint Blue Rider/Plume. Prior to Atria, she edited works by such authors as Pamela Anderson, Quinta Brunson, Cazzie David, Michael Harriot, Marcus J. Moore, and Phoebe Robinson.
