Melinda Mullin, Aly Mostel Promoted at HarperOne
HarperOne VP and deputy publisher Laina Adler has announced that Melinda Mullin is being promoted to executive director of publicity, and Aly Mostel is being promoted to executive director of marketing.
Both were previously senior directors and will continue to report to Adler.
Mullin has been with HarperOne for 13 years and has provided ongoing backlist care for such authors as Paulo Coelho, Thich Nhat Hanh, Kim Krans, Lalah Delia, Shannon Watts, Gary John Bishop, Barbara Brown Taylor, and Aviva Romm. She has worked on such titles as You Were Born for This by Chani Nicholas, The Greatest Secret by Rhonda Byrne, Why Has Nobody Told Me This Before by Julie Smith, Lily’s Promise by Lily Ebert and Dov Forman, The Next Chapter by Jana Kramer, and Love That Story by Jonathan Van Ness. She also works across imprints as needed, recently overseeing the tour and media for The Way Home by Kardea Brown.
Mostel joined the HarperOne team in 2019, and since then has managed a high volume of lead titles while overseeing the HarperOne Marketing Team. She was lead marketer for Finding Me by Viola Davis, Why Has Nobody Told Me This Before by Julie Smith, Best Strangers in the World by Ari Shapiro, and Nowhere for Very Long, and Never Leave the Dogs Behind by Brianna Madia. She also oversees HarperOne’s social presence, influencer program, and partnership outreach.
Additionally, Julia Kent is being promoted to director of marketing.
Kent has been at HarperOne for nearly eight years and is the lead marketer on all activations for The Boy, the Mole, the Fox and the Horse, including most recently working with ALA to create a READ poster for libraries and schools with original art from Charlie Mackesy. She will continue to report to Mostel.
