InterVarsity Press Publisher Announces Retirement

Bob Fryling announced his retirement after 19 years as publisher for InterVarsity Press (IVP). His retirement will begin in June 2016.

Fryling first became involved with InterVarsity Christian Fellowship (IVCF) more than 50 years ago as a student at Drexel University. He was in campus ministry for 27 years, including 14 as national director of campus ministries, and has been a v-p of InterVarsity for thirty years. He began at InterVarsity Press in July 1997. Fryling has also served for eleven years as a board member of the Evangelical Christian Publishers Association (ECPA).

In addition to his work as publisher, Fryling has co-authored three books with his wife, Alice, including Handbook for Engaged Couples, Handbook for Married Couples and Handbook for Parents. Respected for his leadership in various capacities, Fryling is also the author of The Leadership Ellipse: Shaping How We Lead by Who We Are.

Jim Lundgren, interim president (IVCF), is leading the search for both internal and external candidates for Frlying’s successor.
