Raquel Pelzel to Join Voracious as Editorial Director
Raquel Pelzel will join Voracious Books as editorial director, effective September 3. She will report to Michael Szczerban, VP and publisher of Spark and Voracious.
Most recently, Pelzel was editorial director for cooking at Clarkson Potter, where, over the past seven years, she has published more than 20 bestsellers and three James Beard Award winners. She worked with Ina Garten on her most recent cookbooks, and her other authors include Gisele Bündchen, Melissa Clark, Giada DeLaurentiis, Eric Kim, Eva Longoria, Rodney Scott, Claire Saffitz, and Danny Trejo.
Before joining Potter, Raquel coauthored more than two dozen cookbooks and penned several of her own. She was previously senior food editor and test kitchen director at Tasting Table, and began her career in food media as an assistant editor at Cook’s Illustrated, working alongside Voracious house author Chris Kimball.
