HBG Announces Mass Merch Team Revamp
Hachette Book Group has announced a restructure of its mass merchandise team, tied to the recent revamp of its sales department in May.
Jerry Jensen has returned to HBG as executive director of mass merchandise. Jensen was most recently national account manager at Simon & Schuster, where he was responsible for sales of adult titles into all club accounts. Prior to that, he spent nearly two decades at HBG, where he was a national account manager on the mass merch team and designed promotions for such authors as James Patterson and Stephanie Meyer.
Dan Kosack will join HBG as director of mass merchandise, effective August 19. He will report to Jensen. Kosack comes to HBG from Ingram Content Group, where he worked as senior national account manager. Previously, he spent many years as the national accounts manager for Walmart at Penguin Random House.
Avi Molder will move to the mass merch team from the HBG digital team to become national accounts manager for airports, effective August 19. He will report to also Jensen.
Molly McLaughlin has been promoted to associate national accounts manager, handling sales responsibility for warehouse clubs and becoming a key point of contact for the Readerlink account. She will report to Kosack.
Tishana Knight, senior national accounts manager, will now serve as the inventory and operational point person for the mass merch channel in addition to keeping her sales responsibilities, with a focus on grocery/drug and specialty accounts. She will also report to Kosack.
