Keeperton Names Fiona Hazard to Leadership Role
Newly formed international publishing venture Keeperton has appointed Fiona Hazard as head of global strategy and development, effective August 12.
In her new job, Keeperton reps said Hazard, who was previously group publishing director at Hachette Australia, will be tasked with "developing the Keeperton global publishing strategy, including content acquisition."
Keeperton was announced in April by Australian author T L Swan, whose Miles High Club romance series is a perennial BookTok favorite. The publisher's inaugural imprint, Arndell, will focus on romance, with future plans to introduce imprints specializing in fantasy, general fiction, nonfiction, and crime and thriller, and will be distributed by Simon & Schuster.
"I am delighted to have accepted this role with Keeperton as they embark on an innovative and ambitious new era in publishing," Hazard said, in a statement. "It’s incredibly exciting to be working with this driven and energized team who are bringing about real change within the publishing industry."
Keeperton managing director Kellie Clarke said Hazard's experience in trade publishing will be "a huge asset" for the upstart publisher. "Fiona’s unwavering commitment to innovation and creativity will help us develop our strategy of launching digitally published authors into the world of traditional publishing," Clarke said.
