Blackstone Will Offer PRH Audio Titles as CDs on Demand
In an arrangement that broadens access to audiobooks in the retail and library sectors, Blackstone Publishing will offer selections from Penguin Random House Audio’s catalog as CDs on demand. The Ashland, Ore.–based independent publisher announced the manufacturing and distribution deal on August 6. The company will distribute the CDs to retailers and direct to libraries, and will manufacture CDs on demand.
“This partnership marks a significant milestone in our mission to provide high-quality audiobooks to listeners everywhere,” Blackstone chief sales officer Anne Fonteneau said in the announcement. “By leveraging Penguin Random House Audio's esteemed catalog, we are excited to bring even more compelling stories to our dedicated audience.” Blackstone started as an audiobook company in 1987 and has seen significant growth in recent years.
Amanda D’Acierno, president and publisher of PRH Audio, said, “We’re pleased to work with Blackstone to meet customer demand for CD editions of our titles and make our audiobooks accessible to listeners who prefer CDs.”
Blackstone noted that some PRH Audio titles would be available on CD for the first time, including selections from Ali Hazelwood, Ariel Lawhon, and Jesse Q. Sutanto, among others.
