Veteran Editor and Agent Dana Adkins Dies at 77

Publishing veteran Dana Adkins died in New York City on July 22, 2024 at the age of 77, after complications from a fall and head injury precipitated by Ehrlichiosis, a deer tick disease. Adkins was a well-known editor with stints at Viking Press in the 1970s, a year at Houghton Mifflin in 1980, and 22 years at Reader's Digest, where she served as senior staff editor from 1981-2003. She then became a founding partner and owner of the Adkins & Phillips Literary Agency. A memorial service will be announced for October in New York City.
