Modern Library to Reissue Monserrat Roig's Barcelona Trilogy

The Modern Library will reissue Barcelona Trilogy by Monserrat Roig as part of its Torchbearers series, which spotlights women writers throughout history. Originally published between 1977 and 1980, Roig’s novels follow three generations of women through the main cultural and political shifts of Barcelona’s 20th century. 

The second of the three novels, the Time of The Cherries, will be published in 2025, translated by Julia Sanches from Catalan. The first and third novels in the trilogy—Goodbye, Ramona and The Violet Hour–—will be published over the course of 2025 and 2026.
