Manga Startup VoyceMe Raises $10 Million
VoyceMe, formed in 2020 by then 21-year-old Dylan Telano, has raised a total of $10 million in funding following a new round of support led by Redpoint Ventures.
VoyceMe bills itself as providing a centralized platform that allows users to find and consume manga, stream anime, connect with an engaged community of authors and artists, and purchase merchandise. By next year, VoyceMe is also promising to let users become creators when its “story-driven technology powered by ethical AI” will become available.
In addition to the funding, VoyceMe has hired to new executives with deep ties to the manga world. Dexter Ong, formerly with Wattpad and Webtoon, has been named head of business development and Rob Pereyda, former head of anime at Netflix and VP of business development at Viz Media, has been appointed VoyceMe’s factional head of anime.
