PPN Calls for Submissions to Annual Book Awards

The Publishing Professionals Network is inviting entries for its 53rd annual PPN Book Awards, formerly known as the PPN Book Show. To meet eligibility requirements, books need to have been published between May 2023 and May 2024.

The deadline for submissions is August 22, and all materials must be received by August 26. Award recipients will be announced in October and showcased in an online gallery. 

“Since the early 1970s, outstanding book design, production, and manufacturing have been recognized at the annual book awards,” the organization noted in its call for submissions. 

This year, award judges will select four best in show prizes and five to 10 additional winners in each of two categories: Covers and Books. Entries are judged on craft and execution of visual elements; innovation and originality of the book design; positioning of the design for the book’s category or genre; engagement of the audience; and overall impact across criteria.
