PRH India Establishes Advisory Committee
Penguin Random House India has formed an advisory committee designed to "work closely with the Penguin board to strategically enhance readership across the country and prepare the company for the evolving landscape of the publishing industry," per a release. The committee is comprised of professionals from outside the publishing business, and will focus on "the strategic expansion of market development, leveraging artificial intelligence and advanced technologies, integrating offline and online retail channels, and cultivating readership across diverse demographic," among other goals, including the pursuite of "new initiatives to support both emerging and established authors." Inaugural members include marketer Harish Bhat; business advisor Rama Bijapurkar; Puneet Chandok, president of Microsoft India and South Asia; and Shiv Shivakumar, operating partner at Advent International.
