Comixology Adds More Viz Digital Manga
Viz Media, one of the largest U.S. manga publishers and anime distributors, is expanding the number of its titles available through Comixology, the digital comics marketplace. Viz will add 650 manga titles to Comixology, which now offers more than 1,100 Viz titles across 190 different series.
The expanded number of titles follows the debut of Viz Media titles on Comixology in June 2014. While Comixology, which is owned by Amazon, is the dominant marketplace for digital comics, the site was lacking in manga until bringing Viz on board. Viz Media, is the jointly owned US division of Japanese publishers Shogakukan and Shueisha. All of the newly added 650 titles (spanning 65 different series) were originally published by Shogakukan in Japan. Among the new titles are such popular manga series as Midnight Secretary, Magi, Case Closed and The Drifting Classroom.
