EveryLibrary to Host Free Banned Books Week Festival

EveryLibrary will host "EveryLibrary Live! Banned Books Week 2024," a free online festival, this September 22–27. The festival will feature over 45 authors, First Amendment experts, and publishing professionals, and include 25 panels on such topics as censorship, the joy of reading, and the First Amendment's role in libraries. Notable participants include authors Jason Reynolds and Julia Quinn.

Sessions will stream on Facebook Live, Instagram Live, and YouTube Live, with on-demand access available. The festival is supported by publishers including Candlewick, Hachette, Kensington, Penguin Random House, Rowman & Littlefield, Seven Stories, and Simon & Schuster, and by such advocacy groups as the Alliance of Independent Authors, Authors Against Book Bans, and the We Are Stronger Than Censorship initiative.
