Orange Inc. Launches Emaqi, New Digital Manga Platform for U.S. and Canada

Orange Inc., the Tokyo-based manga startup, has launched Emaqi, a digital manga store providing exclusive English translations of previously unreleased titles to English-speaking audiences in the U.S. and Canada.

The platform offers more than 6,000 volumes of manga from 13 publishers, including Futabasha, Kodansha USA, and Shonengahosha, offering books for sale as complete volumes a la carte. The platform uses AI-assisted programs to translate, letter, and produce its manga exclusives.

In partnership with Shueisha, Emaqi will localize one-shots from the Shonen Jump+ platform and release them for free in English. Orange plans to expand the Emaqi catalog and features, including personalized recommendations and a potential mobile app launch.
