Bookstores Launch BookLinks, a Digital Game for Book Lovers
The Strand Book Store in New York has worked with online co-op bookstore Tertulia to introduce BookLinks, a digital game designed for book enthusiasts. BookLinks challenges players to match twelve book covers into thematic groups on a game board, testing their literary knowledge and puzzle-solving skills. It is similar to the New York Times' game Connections.
The game, playable on both mobile and desktop platforms, features daily puzzles and a real-time leaderboard for competitive players. BookLinks will offer special editions created by notable authors and literary figures, including Rumaan Alam, and Ruth Dickey, and Emily St. John Mandel. These author-created gameboards will be complemented by a dedicated BookLinks table at the Strand, featuring the selected books in-store. The launch will include player incentives such as prizes and discounts for consistent successful play.
