Rutgers UP Teams with Bruce Springsteen Archives and Center for American Music
Rutgers University Press has inked a publishing partnership with the Bruce Springsteen Archives and Center for American Music (BSACAM) to launch a new series.
BSACAM is located at Monmouth University, not too far from Rutgers and Springsteen's home in New Jersey. The Archives serve as the archival repository of the Boss’s written works, photographs, periodicals, and artifacts. The Center also preserves and promotes Springsteen's legacy and role in American music, while creating exhibits, public programs, and education initiatives that explore the works of American music giants like Woody Guthrie, Robert Johnson, Billie Holiday, Patti Smith, Frank Sinatra, Muddy Waters, and others.
Peter Mickulas, executive editor at Rutgers University Press, will work with BSACAM executive director Robert Santelli and curator Melissa Ziobro to publish books in a new series. The first title in the series is expected to be published in late 2025, with two more—one by Bob Santelli—in the pipeline for the following year.
“We’re quite excited to formalize our relationship with the Springsteen Archives—the preeminent center for archival research in New Jersey on popular music, including, of course that of New Jersey’s own most famous son, Bruce Springsteen," said Mickulas in a statement. "Given Rutgers University Press’s deep backlist of Springsteen scholarship, this collaboration makes perfect sense.”
