Stephanie Fryling to Join PRH as SVP of Adult Retail Sales
Stephanie Fryling will join Penguin Random House as SVP of adult retail sales on October 28. Fryling comes to PRH from Barnes & Noble, where she held various leadership positions in her 12-year tenure, most recently VP for commercial strategy and category development. She will report to PRH chief revenue officer Jaci Updike.
During her time at B&N, Fryling collaborated with the PRH, PRH Publisher Services, and DK publishing programs. In her new role, Fryling will oversee PRH's B&N, Books-A-Million, field sales, and client sales teams.
Throughout her tenure at B&N, Stephanie has been a highly collaborative partner to the PRH, PRHPS, and DK publishing programs, across key categories and formats. She has demonstrated a deep understanding of the retail book market, and a strong ability to motivate teams to adapt quickly and successfully to a rapidly shifting marketplace. She has a proven track record of driving sales growth, and developing programs that build reader excitement for both frontlist and backlist.
Reporting to her will be Lynn Kovach, VP and director of national accounts; Trevor Bundy, sales director of national accounts; Beth Koehler, VP and director of field sales; and Colleen Murphy, VP and director for PRHPS adult sales.
Ruth Liebmann, VP and director of account marketing, will also report to Fryling, as well as working directly with Updike on communication strategy for sales and marketing. Michael Gentile, VP for education sales and marketing, is newly reporting to Becky Green, SVP for retail sales, education, and Penguin Young Readers, and will work closely with Fryling on adult education sales and marketing.
