'New Studies in Biblical Theology' Series Switches Publishing Partners

[photo nsbt max-width=240 align=right] British-based evangelical imprint Apollos Publishing is shifting to a different copublisher for North American marketing, sales, and distribution for new titles for its influential 63-volume series New Studies in Biblical Theology. In a joint press release, Apollos announced that B&H Academic will take over as copublisher for new titles for the series in the U.S. and Canada.

The NSBT was launched in 1995 by Apollos, the academic imprint of Inter-Varsity Press U.K. Illinois-based InterVarsity Press had served as North American co-publisher for the series for more than two decades. The series backlist will remain with IVP Academic.

B&H Academic is part of B&H Publishing Group, an arm of Lifeway Christian Resources, one of the world's largest evangelical publishing houses. With the new deal, B&H Academic "will contribute to acquisitions and share editorial feedback" but that "final decisions will be overseen by the series editors and Apollos," said publisher Madison Trammel.

B&H Academic will announce topics and titles for the next three volumes in the NSTB series at the November meeting of the Evangelical Theological Society.  The mission of the series, established with the first volume, Possessed by God, by David Peterson, is to "address key issues in biblical theology" and to offer "creative attempts to help Christians better understand their Bibles," according to the publisher.
