Atria Preempts Sonia Tagliareni's Debut Fantasy Trilogy
Elizabeth Hitti at Atria Books has preempted U.S., Canada, and open market rights to Sonia Tagliareni’s debut fantasy trilogy, Deathbringer, in a deal negotiated by Ginger Clark at Ginger Clark Literary on behalf of Juliet Mushens at Mushens Entertainment. The inaugural novel in the series is slated for February 2026.
British rights were sold in a pre-empt to Charlotte Trumble at Simon & Schuster UK by Juliet Mushens at Mushens Entertainment.
Additionally, Italian rights have been sold to Garzanti in a pre-empt by Berla & Griffini; German rights to Heyne at auction by Mohrbooks; and French rights to Olympe by Eliane Benisti, on behalf of Alba Arnau Prado and Juliet Mushens at Mushens Entertainment.
Per Atria, the Deathbringer series features "necromancers, forbidden love, and a murder mystery at a magical academy where a death mage and poison mage must work together to stop a killer, or they may be next."
