Fantagraphics to Crash New Joe Sacco Graphic Novel on Palestine

Fantagraphics will crash War on Gaza, comics artist Joe Sacco’s first new comics on Palestine and Gaza since 2010’s Footnotes in Gaza, on December 17. His 1993 graphic novel Palestine has sold more than 33,000 copies to date at outlets that report to Circana BookScan. The book is billed as “a timely satirical broadside” and “series of graphic commentaries on Israel’s rampage that began more than a year ago and continues relentlessly today,” comprised of comics and single-panel illustrations that “lay bare the naked immorality of the ‘war’ itself and its dire and tragic consequences.”

Correction: An earlier version of this story misnamed the book’s publisher.
