FEP Elects Polish Publisher Sonia Draga as 2024-2026 President
The Federation of European Publishers (FEP) has elected Polish publisher Sonia Draga as its president for 2024-2026. Draga, who was elected VP in 2022, will succeed Ricardo Franco Levi of Italy, and will be the FEP's first woman president.
FEP has also elected the Greek publisher Phaedon Kidoniatis as VP (who will automatically become president in 2026), and Latvian publisher Renate Punka as treasurer. FEP members also elected three board members: Catherine Blanche of France, Barbara Budrich of Germany, and Jesper Monthán of Sweden.
"European legislation plays a huge role at [a] national level, and it is key that the voice of European publishers is not only heard but also listened to," said Draga in a statement.
"Politicians need to be reminded of the conditions of business in our sector and how positive policies make the difference," said Levi, who is also the president of the Italian Publishers Association, in a statement "It has been an honor to serve European publishers and I wish all the best to my successor."
Additionally, FEP welcomed its 30th member, the Association of Publishers and Booksellers from Montenegro.
