
Hilary Redmon Named VP, Editorial Director of Nonfiction at Knopf
Hilary Redmon will join Knopf as VP and editorial director of nonfiction, effective February 14. She will report to Knopf publisher and editor-in-chief Jordan Pavlin.
Redmon comes to Knopf from Random House, where she has spent nearly a decade and most recently served as VP and editorial director of nonfiction. At Random House, she has edited such titles as Educated by Tara Westover, An Immense World by Ed Yong, Saving Time by Jenny Odell, and Lost & Found by Kathryn Schulz.
Redmon began her career at Penguin, working on Penguin Classics and acquiring books for Penguin paperbacks before she moved to Viking where she published Norman Doidge's The Brain that Changes Itself. She went on to work at Free Press and Ecco, where she edited and published such nonfiction titles as Brain on Fire by Susannah Cahalan, The Greatest Show on Earth by Richard Dawkins, I Contain Multitudes by Ed Yong, and Elon Musk by Ashlee Vance.
