Mad Cave Studios to Host ‘L.A. Strong’ Benefit and Book Launch
Mad Cave Studios, headquartered in Miami, will launch its collection L.A. Strong: A Charity Comic for Victims of the Los Angeles Fires at a ticketed event in Los Angeles on March 22. Revenge Of Comics in Glassell Park will host the gathering, which will include signings by some of the contributors, a silent auction of original art and collectibles, and a video message from L.A. Strong writers and artists. All proceeds from the benefit and the book will go toward fire relief and those in need.
Mad Cave EVP Mike Marts and editor Sarah Brunstad began developing the LA Strong project in January as a fundraiser for creators affected by the Los Angeles wildfires. They gathered contributions from an array of writers and artists including Brian Michael Bendis, Geraldo Borges, Amanda Conner, Alex Cormack, Paul Cornell, Rob DenBleyker, Dan DiDio, Christos Gage, Rian Gonzales, Sina Grace, Jody Houser, Barbara Kessel, Daniel Kibblesmith, Sami Kivelä, Salvador Larroca, Nico Leon, Michael Avon Oeming, Steve Orlando, Jimmy Palmiotti, Stephanie Phillips, Alison Sampson, Frank Tieri, Christian Ward, Marv Wolfman, and others.
Ian Churchill provided the cover illustration for the first edition, and Juan Doe will illustrate the cover for the second edition. 100 Bullets author Brian Azzarello wrote the introduction, and Marvel Comics author Greg Pak supplied the afterword.
