
Yahdon Israel, Jacquelynn Kerubo Osoro Join Center for Fiction Board
The Center for Fiction has elected two new members to its board of directors: Jacquelynn Kerubo Osoro, communications director at the Henry Luce Foundation, and Yahdon Israel, senior editor at Simon & Schuster.
“Jacquelynn and Yahdon who are both residents of Brooklyn, and frequent participants in our programming, possess a deep understanding of what makes The Center unique, our commitment to serving the people who surround us in this vibrant borough, and our aspirations for the future,” said Center for Fiction executive director Lydah Pyles DeBin. “I look forward to all they will contribute as part of the leadership.”
Israel is a senior editor at S&S and founder of Literaryswag, an organization at the intersection of literature and fashion. He is also runs a book club, hosts a literary podcast, and works as a creative writing teacher and event producer, in addition to supporting several literary awards. His latest initiative is the Fiction Revival book club, aimed at inspiring straight men to read fiction.
Osoro is a strategic communications leader with a career spanning philanthropy, healthcare, public affairs, publishing, and brand strategy. She currently serves as the communications director at the Henry Luce Foundation, and her work as a writer has appeared in the New York Times, the Wall Street Journal, Longreads, SELF, and elsewhere.
