NBCC Names Adam Dalva as President
The National Book Critics Circle has named Adam Dalva as its new president. Dalva, the former chair of the NBCC’s John Leonard Prize committee, succeeds Heather Scott Partington, who has served as president for the past two years. Dalva is an assistant teaching professor of creative writing at Rutgers University and a contributing fiction editor at the Yale Review.
During her tenure, Scott Partington grew the NBCC’s membership and spearheaded the organization's 50th anniversary awards and celebrations.
“I am honored by the trust put in me by my fellow board members and can't wait to get to work,” Dalva told PW. “I’m excited to advocate for the continuing importance of literary criticism by expanding opportunities for our members, discussing and awarding excellent books, and celebrating brilliant critics along the way.”
Also joining the NBCC board for the first time are Isabella Corletto and Wadzanai Mhute.
