Abrams ComicArts Celebrates 75 Years of ‘Peanuts’
Abrams ComicArts will publish The Essential Peanuts by Charles M. Schulz on October 7, in celebration of the comic strip’s 75th anniversary.
Written by Mark Evanier, the deluxe coffee table book presents the “most iconic and essential Peanuts comic strips with fresh historical and cultural context,” according to a press release. The edition will also feature an introduction by Patrick McDonnell, a foreword by Jean Schulz, and additional contributions from sixteen commentators.
The Essential Peanuts builds upon Abrams ComicArts’ Peanuts publishing program, which includes the Eisner Award-winning Only What’s Necessary: Charles M. Schulz and the Art of Peanuts (Apr. 2025) by Chip Kidd and Geoff Spear.
The edition will be housed in a slipcase, which will include a portfolio insert with bonus extras such as ready-to-frame prints, vinyl stickers, postcards, an iron-on patch, and a reprint of a full-color classic comic book.
