Viet Thanh Nguyen Wins Center for Fiction's First Novel Prize

The Center for Fiction announced that Viet Thanh Nguyen  has been awarded the 2015 Center for Fiction First Novel Prize for his novel, The Sympathizer (Grove Press). 

The author was awarded the prize, which includes a $10,000 cash award, during the Center for Fiction’s Annual Benefit and Awards Dinner in New York City on December 8. Tiphanie Yanique, winner of The Center’s First Novel Prize in 2014, presented this year's award.

Other awards during the Center of Fiction's benefit dinner included the Maxwell E. Perkins Award for Distinguished Achievement in the Field of Fiction to Daniel Halpern, publisher and president of Ecco, an imprint of HarperCollins Publishers.
