NetGalley Expands Access to Galleys

NetGalley announced an alternative to traditional digital rights management (DRM) with Social DRM, an option that allows members to access galley content digitally on any devices or apps that read ePub or PDF files.

With the Social DRM reading option, member information is publicly and privately embedded within the file, so that illegal sharing can be tracked if needed. Readers can move content between devices, and the cost of Social DRM downloads will be included in the NetGalley subscription price. Publishers & authors will continue to have full control over security and reading options across their account or title-by-title.
