Susan Reich, David Lamb Start Consulting Firm
Susan Reich and David Lamb have teamed up on a new consulting company, Book Advisors LLC, to advise publishers on mergers and acquisitions. The company also offers consulting on strategic planning,digital publishing, distribution, and operational issues.
Reich recently left her position as president of Publishers Group West (PGW), a division of The Perseus Books Group, a position she held from 2007 to 2015. Prior to that, Reich was COO of the Avalon Publishing Group and held executive positions at Harper San Francisco, Random House and Simon & Schuster. She is based in San Francisco.
Lamb’s background includes positions at Veronis Suhler Stevenson and GSL Publishing Associates, where he was president for fifteen years and handled the sale of consumer publishers including Motorbooks, Avalon, Publishers Group West, Timber Press, and Sterling Publishing. Lamb also owned and operated self-publisher Vantage Press for three years. As a partner at STM Advisers LLC, where he serves concurrently, his consulting clients in 2015 included the New England Journal of Medicine and the American Association for the Advancement of Science.
Book Advisors will provide consulting services on engagements that include acquisitions, sales and divestitures, financings and valuations, and distribution. The company is based in Manhattan and Oakland.
