Penguin Classics Names V-P and Publisher

Elda Rotor is being promoted from associate publisher and editorial director to v-p and publisher of Penguin Classics.

With Penguin Books since 2006, Rotor has brought over 1700 titles to print. She has broadened titles with new series such as the Penguin Drop Caps and Penguin Horror, in addition to producing deluxe editions of Penguin's backlist and developing categories. Examples include a new edition of Thomas Ligotti's Songs of a Dead Dreamer and Grimscribe, a new translation of The Life of the Buddha, and original editions such as Titanic: First Accounts.

Rotor, who narrated and co-produced Poems By Heart from Penguin Classics, has also maintained close relationships with many important estates such as those of John Steinbeck, Arthur Miller and more.
