Diana Gabaldon/Poisoned Pen Name Writer in Residence
Michael Koryta, the Los Angeles Times Book Prize winner, is the 2016 Diana Gabaldon/Poisoned Pen Writer in Residence, according to Little, Brown and Company. Koryta was chosen by Poisoned Pen store owner and co-founder Barbara Peters, and the author will appear at a number of events at the Scottsdale, Ariz. store during the week of January 30.
Koryta, whose contemporary crime and supernatural fiction includes Last Words and Those Who Wish Me Dead (both Little, Brown and company), began his residency in 2015. The residency program, which serves to support and develop the writers’ community in metro Phoenix as well as visitors, will see Koryta lead two workshops as well as host a number of author events at The Poisoned Pen and Mesquite Library.
Diana Gabaldon, author of the bestselling Outlander series, first paired up with her local bookstore, the Poisoned Pen, on the writer-in-residence program last year.
