HC Acquires Memoir by Teen Syrian Refugee
HarperCollins Publishers acquired the world rights in all languages for Nujeen's Incredible Journey, a memoir by Nujeen Mustafa, a Syrian refugee. The book was acquired by Arabella Pike, publishing director of William Collins, HarperCollins UK, from David Godwin at David Godwin Associates, and it will be co-written by Christina Lamb, co-author of I Am Malala.
Nujeen's Incredible Journey follows Mustafa’s life, including how she taught herself to speak English by watching television and made the perilous journey from Syria to Germany in a wheelchair. The book will be published in September 2016 by William Collins in the U.K., followed by HarperWave in the U.S., and HarperCollins globally in nine languages including German, Swedish, Finnish, Danish, Italian, French, Dutch, Spanish and Portuguese (excluding Brazil).
