David C Cook Hires New Publisher

On the heels of David C Cook's acquisition of Standard Publishing assets and its subsequent realignment, Cook has named Matt Lockhart as publisher.

Effective February 1, 2016 Lockhart will oversee the publication of the Standard Lesson Commentary, Bible-in-Life curriculum, and adult trade book resources. The Standard Lesson Commentary are Bible study resources that include products such as the Standard Lesson Quarterly, the Standard Lesson Study Bible, the Essential Book of Teacher Tips, Devotions, as well as other weekly and quarterly resources.

Lockhart arrives with over 20 years of experience in the publishing industry, including his most recent position as v-p, general manager, and publisher at Standard Publishing, where he served until the Standard Publishing assets were sold to David C Cook in December of 2015. 

Cook, which also acquired some of the Gospel Light curriculum assets last year, realigned their book and curriculum units into one Learning Resources Strategic Ministry Unit (SMU). Within the SMU, Lockhart joins publishers Lindsay Black and Catherine DeVries, v-p of sales and marketing Chriscynethia Floyd,  and executive editor Verne Kenney.
