S&S Nabs Ruth Bader Ginsburg’s New Book
My Own Words, the first book by Ruth Bader Ginsburg since she became a Supreme Court Justice in 1993, will be published by Simon and Schuster in January 2017. World rights were acquired by Alice Mayhew, v-p and editorial director of S&S, from Esther Newberg, ICM Partners.
The book will feature a selection of writings and speeches by Justice Ginsburg on topics including gender equality, the workways of the Supreme Court, on being Jewish, on law and lawyers in opera, and on the value of looking beyond U.S. shores when interpreting the U.S. Constitution, according to a press release. The writings were selected by Justice Ginsburg and her authorized biographers, Mary Hartnett and Wendy W. Williams, who will write introductions to each chapter.
S&S is also publishing a biography of Justice Ginsburg by Hartnett and Williams, but details about the release date for the book are forthcoming.
