Papercutz, Nickelodeon Ink First-Look Deal for Graphic Novels
Papercutz, the children’s graphic novel publisher, has reached an agreement with kids’ TV network Nickelodeon that will give Papercutz the first option to adapt new Nickelodeon properties into comics and graphic novels.
The new deal will allow Papercutz to get involved at the earliest development stages of new Nickelodeon broadcast properties in order to create print comics and graphic novels that are “faithful to the original look and spirit of the series,” according to a joint statement. The deal will also allow Papercutz to release new Nickelodeon comics adaptations to be released in the bookstore and comics markets in a timely manner when new shows debut on the TV network.
The first two graphic novel properties to be released by Papercutz under the new agreement are adapted from the popular Nickelodeon shows, Sanjay and Craig and Breadwinners. “Our partners at Nickelodeon have created some terrific characters that really reach out to kids. And we can't wait to translate that magic into the graphic novel format” said Papercutz Editor-in-Chief Jim Salicrup.
