Kodansha’s Attack on Titan manga to Simulpub in Japanese and English
Kodansha Comics, publisher of Hajime Isayama’s global bestselling manga series, Attack On Titan, announced plans with digital comics marketplace Comixology to launch new chapters of the post-apocalyptic series in English and Japanese on the same day they are published Japan.
The series will kick off with the simultaneous Japanese and English release of Attack on Titan, Chapter 80, the same day the chapter will appear in Bessatsu Shonen magazine in Japan. The series will available on Comixology as well as the Amazon Kindle Store. Amazon is the parent company of Comixology.
Comixology has also added a manga tab to its homepage to make easier to locate the category.
In addition to Attack on Titan, 16 other Kodansha Comics series will begin simultaneous digital publication, among them Fairy Tale, As the Gods Will (on a weekly basis), and The Heroic legend of Arslan, Magatsuki (on a bi-weekly basis). Chapters can be purchased for $1.99 each.
Kodansha is also making more than 1900 chapters (all in English) of the Attack on Titan series available for digital download via Comixology and Amazon. AoT tradebook collections were already available on Comixology, now fans can read the series chapter by chapter, immediately along with fans in Japan.
Alvin Lu, general manager at Kodansha Advanced Media, said “English readers can now buy chapters of their favorite manga series the same day Japanese fans are picking up new issues in convenience stores.”
