Viz, OverDrive Partner to Deliver Manga to Libraries

Viz Media, a major publisher and distributor of Japanese manga and anime in North America, has reached an agreement with library vendor OverDrive to distribute a wide variety of manga content to public libraries.

Initially OverDrive will distribute several of Viz’s most popular manga (Japanese comics) in English, including such titles as Naruto, Vampire Knight, Neon Genesis Evangelion and others, to participating libraries for digital lending. Viz will expand the number of manga series available throughout the year.

A full list of Viz titles now available for library patrons via OverDrive can be viewed at OverDrive/publishers/vizmedia.

Kevin Hamric, Viz Media senior director of publishing sales and marketing, said “OverDrive’s digital platform offers an innovative, cloud-based and fully scalable channel to offer a diverse selection of age-appropriate digital manga content to library patrons.  Our partnership with the company will ensure that users have access to some of the most popular titles from the VIZ Media catalog.”
