Humble Bundle, DC Offer ‘MAD' Magazine Bundle
Humble Bundle, the pay-what-you-want platform that offers bundled digital content and supports charities, is teaming with DC Entertainment to launch a MAD magazine Bundle beginning August 31.
DC Comics is offering a bundle of 35 back issues of MAD magazine for $1 (in addition to a 1-year digital subscription to the magazine). Consumers can pay $1 or pay more and unlock even more Mad magazine content from “the usual gang of idiots.”
The DC/MAD magazine Humble Bundle is being launched in support of the Comic Book Legal Defense Fund, a nonprofit First Amendment watchdog organization that protects the right to read of publishers, artists and consumers. Humble Bundle supports a wide variety charities and offers consumers a database of charities they can choose to support.
This will be DC's first partnership with Humble Bundle. Humble Bundle attracts millions of visitors to its website looking for its bundles of content. The Mad Magazine Bundle offer will go live on August 31 and will run until September 14.
Humble Bundle partners with publishers to offer a wide variety of pay-what-you-wish digital content, and generated more than $6 million in revenue in 2015. Revenue generated by these digital bundles are divided between the publisher, the artists, and Humble Bundle. Consumers also have the option to offer part of their donation to charities like the CBLDF. In 2015 the site generated more than $1.2 million in donations for a wide variety of charities.
