Dear BookWorks Family,
Eight years ago, I started BookWorks with the idea that authors needed to connect with one another for mutual support and to share their knowledge and experience to produce better books. At the time, there weren't many places that were looking out for self-published authors, and predatory practices were a real problem for those who were forging their own path in the publishing world.
Since then, BookWorks has provided thousands of authors and author service providers with a place to connect and collaborate, to learn and grow. We had the privilege of creating one of the first communities for indie authors, a space designed to let you share your work, build your brand, and where you could find resources, information, and outstanding content from the best minds in the self-publishing industry. We wanted to make BookWorks a home and hub for authors and help smooth the path to realizing their self-publishing dreams. We've never stopped making improvements designed to make that goal a reality.
Now, however, it's time for us to move on. It's been a wonderful adventure with all of you, and we are so grateful for each of your investments in our project. It's been an enlightening, educational, and most of all, fun experience. We've loved seeing your work and author brands grow over the years and wish all of you the very best in your careers. While BookWorks will be officially closing December 31, 2019, those of us who work here will remain part of the publishing industry and look forward to serving you in our next iterations.
Again, thank you so much for your support and engagement with us over the years. You are all the heart of BookWorks.
Sincerely,
Betty Sargent Founder
