This week Calvin interviews Afrofuturist scholar Walter Greason and comics artist Tim Fielder, creators of ‘The Graphic History of Hip Hop,’ a lively and comprehensive comics history of Hip Hop and its components—DJing, graffiti, emceeing, and beatboxing—and the rise of its performers within the social and political history of New York City. Published by NYC Dept. of Education, it is being distributed throughout NYC public schools and an expanded book collection will be released in early 2024.
