In this week's podcast, Kate interviews Ngozi Ukazu, creator of the surprise Kickstarter-hit LGBT webcomic 'Check Please!' about the comic's inspiration, hockey culture, interacting with fandom through social media, Kickstartering while in self-promotion class, and accidentally creating a transmedia property. Check Please! is a lighthearted comic about Bitty, a gay figure skater who loves to bake, and the wacky liberal arts college hockey team that becomes his new home. Its Kickstarter raised $74,000.
