In the wake of cutbacks at Reader's Digest, David Palmer, v-p and editor-in-chief of the company's U.S. general books division, is resigning from the publisher, effective October 16. He will be replaced by Chris Cavanaugh, who had been managing editor of the unit and part of RD's vision team.
Under RD's recently announced restructuring, the company is dramatically scaling back its presence in the adult trade market, an area that is part of the general books division.
