Tina Brown, chairman of the multimedia company Talk Media, has named Jonathan Burnham president and editor-in-chief of the company's book unit -- tentatively called Miramax/ Talk Media Books. Miramax Books, which currently publishes mostly movie tie-in titles, will be absorbed by the new unit; Miramax Books' Susan Dalsimer has been named publisher and vice-president of Miramax/Talk Media Books.
Burnham, who will move to Talk Media December 7, joined Viking in January 1998 as senior editor, following five years as publisher of Chatto and Windus, London. Burnham told PW he expects to do a combination of 10 to 15 fiction and nonfiction titles annually, with the first list set to be launched in spring 2000.
