Beginning early next year, PBS will broadcast San Mateo, Calif.-based KCSM-TV's literary book show Authors &Critics nationwide, thanks to new underwriting by Borders Books &Music, the Koret Foundation and BAAN (a Netherlands-based software company).
The show, for the past 12 years, has been broadcast in the San Francisco Bay area. This season, host Lailee Bakhtiar Van Dillen, who interviews 26 authors during 13 segments, will be speaking with Katherine Neville, Richard North Patterson, Maxine Hong Kingston and Po Bronson, among others. Guest critics fill out the half-hour show with fiction and nonfiction reviews.
