The Millbrook Press has introduced a new Web site that provides librarians electronic "on approval" services. The site (www.millbrookonapproval.com) will enable Millbrook to efficiently reach more customers and will allow librarians to electronically preview a wide selection of the company's titles prior to purchase.
The introduction of the new site is one factor that Millbrook feels will help boost results in fiscal 1999. The new fiscal year began with a strong start, with sales up 21% to $4.8 million for the first quarter ended October 31, 1998; net income rose to $305,000 from $251,000. Millbrook president Jeff Conrad said the first quarter results reflected increase sales to both the library and consumer markets.
