Tony Lyons has been named president and publisher of the Lyons Press, taking over the position held by his father, company founder Nick Lyons, who will now serve as chairman of the board and editorial consultant. Tony Lyons was executive vice-president and associate publisher.
"I'll always edit," said the senior Lyons, "but Tony brings great vigor and vision to the business and he's proven his acute publishing skills for a good while now."
Tony Lyons is also an attorney specializing in publishing law and co-author with Tad Crawford of The Writer's Legal Guide (the second edition was published this month by Allworth Press). In July, he signed copublishing deals with Field and Stream magazine and L.L. Bean and has since signed agreements with Golf Magazine, the Orvis Company and the League of Women Voters.
