Visitors to audiohighway.com will be able to download audio content for free and buy related book titles, under a new agreement between the audio Web site and online book retailer barnesandnoble.com. The deal will provide enhanced Web traffic and e-commerce opportunities for both sites.
Audiohighway.com will join with B&N.com to launch a co-branded Web store in the early spring that will allow Web consumers to buy anything on the B&N inventory database. Audiohighway.com provides all kinds of free audio content, including audiobooks, comedy, music and news reports, supported by advertising.
Audiohighway will receive a percentage of the gross revenues of B&N product sold through the audiohighway.com site. B&N.com will handle all fullfillment and shipping.
Nathan Schulhof, CEO of audiohighway.com, said the deal "will provide a terrific venue for our content providers to showcase their products."
