Carl Lennertz, former associate publisher at Little, Brown and an 18-year Random House veteran, has joined the American Booksellers Association as senior marketing consultant, a newly created position. He will help "conceive, develop and implement the means for large and small publishers to participate in the Book Sense marketing campaign," the association reported.
Lennertz, who has been lauded for years for supporting traditional booksellers, especially independents, said that Book Sense has "the potential to create a great marketing and feedback vehicle for every publisher." Lennertz began working at ABA last week and can be reached at carl@booksense.com.
