Martha K. Levin, vice-president and editor-in-chief of Hyperion since February 1998, has been promoted to v-p and publisher. She will continue to supervise all editorial functions for Hyperion and its four imprints and will assume responsibility for the preproduction, production and art departments. Before joining Hyperion, Levin was senior vice-president and publisher at Anchor Books/Doubleday.
In a related appointment, Ellen Archer, formerly vice-president and associate publisher at Ballantine, was named v-p and associate publisher at Hyperion, effective April 26. She will oversee the sales, marketing and publicity departments, which include the imprints of Miramax, ESPN Books, ABC Daytime Press and Hyperion East. Before joining Ballantine Archer held various publicity positions at Doubleday and Simon &Schuster.
Both Archer and Levin will report to Robert S. Miller, Hyperion senior vice-president and managing editor. The subsidiary rights department, headed by Jill Sansone, director of subsidiary rights, will continue to report to Miller.
